Anne Labovitz


Labovitz’s work investigates the human condition through the lens of art and its connection to well-being. Utilizing intense light, saturated color palettes, and dynamic structures, her immersive installations transform spaces and invite viewers into a visceral, sensory experience.

She holds a BA from Hamline University (St. Paul, MN) with minors in Art and Psychology, and an MFA from Transart Institute at Plymouth University (UK). Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in numerous private and public collections, including the Walker Art Center; Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum (Minneapolis, MN); Museum of American Art (St. Paul, MN); Tweed Museum of Art (Duluth, MN); Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport; and Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN).

Labovitz’s recent solo exhibitions include presentations at Plains Art Museum (Fargo, ND); Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (Lubbock, TX); Rochester Art Center (Rochester, MN); Minnesota Marine Art Museum (Winona, MN); and Athenaeum Music & Arts Library (La Jolla, CA). Internationally, her work has been exhibited at the International Portrait Gallery (Bosnia-Herzegovina); Växjö Kommun (Sweden); Isumi City Offices (Japan); University of Raparin (Rania, Iraqi Kurdistan); and the City of Petrozavodsk (Russia).

A frequent public speaker, Labovitz engages audiences on the relationship between art and health, with recent presentations at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), Winona State University (Winona, MN), and St. George’s University (Grenada). She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor and Mentor in the Master of Fine Arts program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
